2 Corinthians 5:16-17 NIV So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
We’re unique creations too.
1 Corinthians 12:14-20 NIV Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
So, when God gives us something, just for us, when he allows us to discover something about ourselves, we’ve got to treat those things with extraordinary care. We mustn’t allow them to be lost or forgotten in the rush and charge of life. We must collect and revisit them—so we can always have the best, most complete picture possible of who we really are and whom we’re really meant to become.
You are God’s masterpiece. He made you unique. No one else in the world is like you. And God doesn’t want you to try to be like someone else. He makes you new and unique in Jesus so you can do what he’s planned for you to do.
Ephesians 2:10 NLT For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
When you’re living as God’s masterpiece, you only need to do what he wants. You can let go of all the expectations from other people.
Living to please God is not as hard as you think. When God makes you new in Christ, he changes your desires.
Psalms 37:3-6 NKJV Trust in the Lord , and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord , And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord , Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.
New and unique creations trust God and commit their ways to Him. He in Turn will will act in giving His stamp of approval (righteousness) which leads to more trust in God. Now you can say, “My one goal is to serve the Lord.” And if you’re doing that, you’ll be a better parent, a better marriage partner, a better friend, and a better colleague.
If you’re pleasing God, you’re always doing the right thing—and that makes life so much simpler.
It’s not that you “have to,” it’s that you “get to” live out a purpose and life significance that you were uniquely created to do.
