We can’t eliminate the battles but what we can learn and realize that the battles we face are the Lord’s to handle, not ours. We have the greatest Warrior of all time fighting on behalf of us. Here is what Jesus said about the battles we will face.
John 16:33 NIV “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (emphasis mine).
So, the next time that you face a battle instead of you fighting it step out of the way and let God step in and fight the battle through His strength.
2 Chronicles 20:15 NIV He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
We have an Almighty God who already holds the victory. We don’t need to put our hands in the battle, we can step aside and let Him take full control.
Yes, let’s put on our armor and pick up our sword and then stand beside the One who holds the victory.
Ephesians 6:13-17 NIV Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
He is the greatest defender, the greatest leader, the greatest warrior. Just stand beside Him and watch Him lead the fight.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your army. We thank you that you sent your very own Son to die on the cross, so that we can become victors victorious and more than conquerors in the battles we face. Lord, we lift the battles we are facing today. You know all of them, the big ones, and the small ones. You know the battles we are facing in our minds. We surrender them to you.
Forgive us for fighting by ourselves and not putting our full faith and trust in You. Remind us at those times where we want to fight the battles with our own hands, to step out of the way so we don’t get in your way. We release the battles to you, Lord. We surrender them all to you. We thank you so much that we don’t have to face our battles here on earth alone. In Jesus’ name we pray Amen.
