Being in the “heavenly realms” means that right now, today we are united with Christ in the supernatural realm. For example, those reading this post are citizens of a country. Most of you are citizens of the United States, others may be citizens of India, China, Philippines, or another nation. However, if you are a Christian, you are also a citizen of heaven.
Philippians 3:20-21 NLT [20] But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. [21] He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control. (emphasis mine)
As a citizen of heaven, you have some supernatural things that you need to transfer to what we have here on earth in the natural realm. For example, if you travel to a country that is not where you have citizenship you must transfer the money from one currency to another. You still have the money just in the currency of the country where you are traveling or living temporarily.
Like the scripture at the beginning of this post we have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. You already have it you just must transfer it to the natural realm and use it.
For example, we pray “Lord, give me more love. The Bible says that we are already filled with God’s love
Romans 5:5 NLT And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
We pray for more power. The Bible says we already have all the power we need to live a godly life.
2 Peter 1:3 NLT By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
We pray for peace. We already have it.
John 14:27 NLT “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
We don’t need more; we just need to use what we already have.
The Bible tells us that God had given everything to Christ as his heir and we are joint heirs with him. That means that everything that Christ has we have. God has adopted us, loves us, has chosen us, and has called us.
Romans 8:15-17 NLT [15] So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” [16] For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. [17] And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. (emphasis mine)
John 3:31-36 NLT [31] “He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. [32] He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! [33] Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true. [34] For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. [35] The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. [36] And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.” (emphasis mine)
We don’t have to sit around every day, feeling defeated and unworthy. We never were worthy and never will be worthy anyway. It is not about worthiness; it is about Jesus and what He has done for us.
Romans 3:23-26 NLT [23] For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. [24] Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. [25] For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, [26] for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. (emphasis mine)
We need to understand what God has done for us and let it impact the way that we live.
