Jesus is God is one of the core doctrines of the Christian faith that Christians should hold to strengthen their relationship with God and walk in His purpose for us.
Romans 8:28-30 NIV .And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Jesus Is the One True God
Christianity is unlike any other faith in the world, and it’s because the story centers on the one person who is unlike any other Jesus Christ.
John 1:1-4 NIV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.
No other religion or faith worships a God who claims that He was, is, and yet to come.
Revelation 22:12-13 NIV “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
Christians worship a God who is fully God, but also fully man one who came to earth as a human to meet us where we were, to reconcile what sin brought in the world, and provide a way for us to enter Heaven.
Hebrews 2:14-17 NIV Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
Jesus said that He is the only way to the Father.
John 14:6-7 NIV Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
The Easter story of Jesus’s death and resurrection is the greatest story in mankind. But there’s always one thing more important than what Jesus came to do, and that’s who Jesus is. Throughout the Bible, Jesus tells us who He is through His “I am” statements. ( see The Seven I Am Statements of Jesus)
Christians can rest in the assurance that Jesus is who He says He is and His promises will be fulfilled.
