An Answered Prayer
In his hour of need, David prayed to God for help because he believed that God listens and responds. His hope was not disappointed. He thanked the Lord with praises. Throughout the Bible, God urges his people to pray with confidence that he will listen and respond:
Proverbs 15:29 (NLT) The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous.
Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NLT) 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.12 In those days when you pray, I will listen.
Mark 11:24 (NLT) I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
1 John 5:13-15 (NLT) 13 I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
Once they ask, he faithfully answers, and their appropriate response should be thankful praise!
