James 1:13-15 NLT And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
Each person will have their own struggles, temptations, and difficulties in life. When we tell someone that “God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers”, we are comparing one believer with another or comparing another believer with ourselves, and that is not wise.
Galatians 6:4-5 NLT Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
God never intended for believers to have difficulties in our lives; but, ever since Adam and Eve’s disobedience, we have had struggles, temptations, and sin in the world. In other words, we will have “battles”.
Just because someone else’s struggle is not a struggle for you doesn’t mean it’s not a struggle for them. How would you like it if someone came to you and said that what you are going through is “not that bad” or tell you that their struggle much harder than yours?
Let’s be honest some people struggle with things that don’t faze us and the opposite is true for us. As a believer who is to love our neighbor as ourselves, we must look at everybody’s battle as being as equally difficult as our own.
No person is a “stronger soldier” if they have a “tougher battle.” When we tell someone “God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers” we are implying that the severity of the battle demonstrates the strength of the Christian. This is not true. The severity of the battle does not equal the strength or faith of the person.
By ourselves we are nothing without Christ. We would not be able to get through difficult trials, struggles, or “battles” without God’s strength.
Philippians 4:12-13 NLT I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

God is the one who works through us, empowers us, and strengthens us. We are not divine, which means we are not self-sufficient. All people need God in their lives because without Him, we are nothing. In our own strength, we cannot get through difficult times.
If we are humble and acknowledge our dependence on God, He will help us through our trials no matter what they are or how difficult they may be. God knows we are not strong enough on our own. Therefore, He wants us to come to Him and lean on Him.
1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT So, humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
No matter how big your battle or how difficult it is, God is greater.
John 16:33 NLT I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
When you hear “God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers” it implies the idea that God places us in a difficult situation and then leaves us. As I said before God doesn’t put us in the “battle” but when we are there, He promises that His is there and He will never leave us.
Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Hebrews 13:5 NLT Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
There is not a day, minute, or second that God is not with you. God is with you whether you are having a wonderful day or if the day is full of doom and gloom.
The severity of your battle is real, no matter what anybody says. Your pain and tears do not go unnoticed by God. He sees you and is ready to give you hope, encouragement, and strength.
Psalms 56:8 NLT You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
The next time that someone tells you or you hear them say to somebody else “God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers”, tell them that God never said that and that’s not it the Bible. What is in the Bible is
Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
God does not promise to take us out of tough times, no matter what or how severe they are to you, but He does promise to be with us through them.
