It’s a question that can feel overwhelming. What could we possibly offer the Creator of the universe? The good news is that Jesus isn't looking for material possessions. His desires are far more significant, touching the very core of our being.
One of the most precious gifts we can offer Jesus is our heart.
Proverbs 23:26 NKJV My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.
This isn't just about emotional affection; it's about our will, our desires, our very essence. When we surrender our heart to Jesus, we are inviting Him to transform us from the inside out, aligning our lives with His divine purpose.
Another profound gift is our obedience.
John 14:15 NKJV “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Obedience isn't a burden; it's an act of love and trust. When we strive to live according to His teachings, we demonstrate our devotion and allow His light to shine through us. It's a daily commitment to follow His path, even when it's challenging.
We can also give Jesus the gift of our service.
Matthew 25:40 NKJV And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
Serving others, especially those in need, is a direct act of service to Jesus. Whether it's volunteering our time, offering a listening ear, or sharing our resources, every act of kindness reflects His love.
Our worship and praise are also cherished gifts.
Psalms 150:6 NKJV Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
When we lift our voices, our spirits, and our lives in worship, we acknowledge His sovereignty, His goodness, and His boundless love. It’s a recognition of who He is and all He has done for us.
Finally, we can give Jesus the gift of our faith.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Trusting in His plan, even when we don't understand it, is a powerful demonstration of our belief in Him.
This Christmas, as you wrap presents and gather with loved ones, consider these timeless gifts you can offer to Jesus. They are gifts that go beyond the temporary joy of material things, bringing eternal blessings and a deeper relationship with the Savior.
