To be audacious is to show a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks. When we apply that to our spiritual walk, everything changes. Audacious faith is the willingness to believe God’s promises no matter what the circumstances look like.
Beyond the Ordinary
God did not create you to be ordinary or complacent. We weren't designed to just "get by" or blend into the background of our own lives. Complacency is a cozy trap; it feels safe, but nothing ever grows there. To live out your true calling, you have to be willing to disrupt your own comfort zone.
You have a purpose that requires you to step up, step out, and step into the specific lane God has carved for you. That step often requires leaving the "logic" of the world behind to embrace the "promises" of the Word.
Ephesians 2:10 NIV For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
The Reality of Resistance
Here is the truth: the moment you decide to stop playing it safe, you should expect resistance. It might come as self-doubt, criticism from others, or unexpected obstacles that seem to block your path.
Don't let the friction surprise you. Resistance is often a sign that you are finally moving in a direction that matters.
1 Peter 5:8-9 NIV [8] Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. [9] Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
Resistance isn't a signal to stop; it’s a prompt to activate your audacious and persistent faith.
Activating Your Audacity
How do we actually live this out when the "circumstances" are shouting louder than the "promises"?
Look at the Promise, Not the Problem: Faith is the "evidence of things not seen". If you can see the solution already, you don't need faith. Audacious faith looks at a mountain and sees a molehill because it knows who created the earth.
Hebrews 11:1 NIV Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Be Boldly Persistent: Audacity isn't a one-time event; it’s a lifestyle. It’s the choice to keep knocking on the door even when it feels locked.
Take the Risk: Whether it’s starting that new venture, mending a relationship, or following a divine nudge that makes no sense on paper, take the step.
Matthew 17:20 NIV He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
God is looking for people who are tired of the status quo. He is looking for those willing to be "unreasonably" confident in His Word. Today, decide to trade in your complacency for a spirit of boldness.
Don't just have faith—have audacious faith. Step into your purpose, hold your ground against the resistance, and watch God do the "surprising" through you.
